Inspirational Friendship Story

It is story of two soldiers in World War I, where they both were in a battle. One of the close friends was caught in a trench with continuous gunfire whizzing over his head, then the other soldier friend asked his senior to go out to the “no man’s land” to get back his comrade. The senior allowed him but suggested him to not go there and save his life and told him that there is no use of going as his friend must have died in this rain of bullets. With his true feelings and courage, the soldier managed to reach his friend and hoist him onto his shoulder and bring him back to their company’s trench.

The officer came and checked in for the life of soldier and fell sorry for the dead friend of the soldier and said “I told you it wouldn’t be worth it,” he said. “Your friend is dead and you are mortally wounded.” He responded to his sir that “It was worth it, though, sir,” and it surprised everyone around that how was it worth? His friend is dead. But he told them that when he went to his friend, he was still alive and said the satisfactory words to him and those words were, “JIM…….., I KNEW YOU’D COME.”

Everything in life has different aspects to different people. It is on you how you take it and what values you in life. Just give your best to one thing in your life which your mind says no but your heart wants you to do. The satisfaction and peace you get to follow your heart is immense and give you reason to respect yourself.  In this story we saw that how a soldier took his life on risk to save the trust of his friend.
