In view of the precious part friends play in our life, it was considered perfectly appropriate to have a day devoted to buddies and friendly relationships. In 1935, the U.S Congress announced the first Sunday of August as the National Friendship Day honoring the bond of love and affection that friends share.

 

Following the reputation and success of Friendship Day in US, many other countries implemented the custom of devoting a day to buddies. Today, the Friendship Day is widely celebrated and has become a well-known event in several countries across the globe including the Asian and African countries.

 

In 1997, the United Nations named the cartoon character Winnie the Pooh as the World Ambassador of Friendship.

The Bible reveals upon friendly relationship as the rapport that forms the basis of genuine care and affection that individuals believe in and implement in their lives. In the well-known Hindu mythological text originating in India, Mahabharata, the almighty Krishna reveals the many colors of friendly relationship – love, brotherhood, protection, assistance, closeness and even proposition.
